Gjennomføring

Masterprogrammet foreleses over 5-6 samlinger, og undervisningen foregår på dagtid.

Eksamensform

Studentene evalueres gjennom en prosjektoppgave som teller 60% av totalkarakteren og en individuell 72 timers hjemmeeksamen som teller 40%. Prosjektoppgaven kan skrives individuelt eller i grupper på inntil tre personer. Alle eksamener må bestås for at vitnemål i programmet skal bli tildelt.

It is hypothesized that the program's educational success lies in our effort to make the individual process isomorphic with the development stages in a typical hero fairy tale (staging a qualifying test, a main test and a glorifying/confirming test), and to arouse much of the same feelings that folk tales produce (excitement, surprise and curiosity). The didactic objective of the program is to align research-based psychological theories with the participants' own job-knowledge and life-experience.

Continuous and detailed program-evaluation have been an integrated effort since program start in 1992. Each exercise, lecture, module and the program as a whole are evaluated by the participants filling out a short standard evaluating form at the end of each module. This has proven to be a simple and efficient tool for program-development and refinement. A broad evaluation was done by the Department of Education, University of Oslo in 2003, where former participants evaluated the program in regard to other programs attended (Lahn, 2004, unpublished;referred in Moxnes, 2006, p. 16). Results strongly suggest that the program 1) conveys a practical knowledge of individual and group psychological processes that surpasses all other leadership development programs attended, 2) has an effect of continuous learning that lasts years after termination of the program, and, most important, 3) has more positive influences upon transfer of training into participants' back-home situations than any other leadership development programs attended. A full version of the program is offered by Norway's two leading business schools: BI Norwegian Business School, and AFF at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Both programs (see below) run in Norwegian.
